Carpentry

The F&D carpentry team includes highly skilled, ticketed carpenters with experience in movies, exhibits, events, shopping malls, theatre, Broadway and high end commercial work. F&D’s construction department is extensive and features carpenters, cabinet makers, Red Seal Carpenters, and custom scenic fabricators.

Our qualifications include standard construction techniques as well as industry specific scenic carpentry that is frequently seen in theatrical applications. For most projects, the carpenters will construct and assemble scenery in-house in order to obtain client approval prior to shipping and installation on site. If required, an installation supervisor from our carpentry department will accompany the scenery to its final destination in order to oversee assembly and installation. Most of our theatrical projects are designed and constructed in order to fully disassemble and pack into 53’ semi-trailers.

The creative, versatile attitudes of our carpenters contribute to the economic success in creating projects of any scale using both standard and unique materials. As carpenters, this group is often responsible for the bulk of integration of all show elements. This may include cladding on top of structural metal framing or preparation of surfaces for scenic painters.
